Pre-natal and Post-partum Massage

This massage treatment specializes in working with pregnant women through all stages of pregnancy and after delivery. Massage is extremely beneficial and welcomed by pregnant women as their body goes through dramatic changes to accommodate the growing fetus. Massage helps to relieve the physical discomforts of pregnancy, reduces edema and aching leg cramps, relaxes muscles, or the focus of the session may be to increase relaxation to encourage a better night's sleep. Massage also helps to get your body back in shape after birth. Feeling better in your body, less stress and a stronger immune system are benefits to the mother’s health as well as for the new baby.

Labor Doula Services

A labor doula offers nurturing support to a women throughout her pregnancy and labor.

My personal wish is for your birth experience to be empowering. What this means is that you feel in control of your experience; you have the information you need to make the best choices for you at every moment along your birth journey, and to realize that you have so many rights and choices as a laboring woman. A doula encourages you to trust yourself and your intuition. No matter what initial expectations you have of your birth and what outcomes follow, the goal is for you to feel positive about your accomplishment.

1st Meeting

This initial meeting let's us get to know one other and decide if we are a good fit. We discuss your pregnancy thus far, what you envision for your birth experience, as well as any fears or concerns that you may have. This meeting is to clarify the role of a doula and how I may specifically help you and your partner throughout your birthing process. This is a no obligation consultation.

2nd Meeting

This meeting is the time when we build your birth support team, discuss all your options, and get you the information that you need to feel prepared. I help get you started on a birth plan if you wish to create one. We may go over stretches and strengthening exercises as well as practice birthing positions.

At this point, I am available for any phone and email support that you may need and on-call 24/7 for the start of labor.

Labor Support

Once labor begins I can meet you at home or at the hospital. I offer constant support throughout your labor and delivery, and work with the people you have chosen to be part of your birth. Partners are always especially grateful to have a trained support person to help guide and support them. I help you with changing positions, breathing techniques, massage, and keeping you comfortable and in control with information, emotional, and physical support. I stay at the hospital for a few hours after birth until you are settled into post-partum care.

Post Birth Meeting

Our final post-partum visit is at your home once you are settled in; usually a few days to a week after birth. You will receive your birth album of photos documenting your birth. We recount your birth experience and go over any questions you may have.
